I know this is a little off the topic, but I just read that Everest has had more visitors and I don't mean by 'chopper. Rex Pemberton from Kumuka Worldwide has now become Australia's youngest climber to conquer Everest.
Hell, when I was 21 I was chasing girls not bloody mountains. Well done Rex

Anyone who climbs that hunk of rock deserves a medal , although I would imagine getting down would be as tough as getting to the top .

And lets not forget that the first guy who got there is still alive today , which is more than can be said for far too many who have tried and failed .

Oh , yeah - did I mention he is NEW ZEALANDER???

I thought Tenzing Norgay was Nepalese, and had passed ?

But seriously, Sir Ed is actually one of my heroes. Both for what he did in '53 and what he's done for the Sherpa people.
