I'm not sure what the letter of the law is or is intended to be but you could contend that in the event of coming to NSW to hunt you could be an innocent victim of the cartridge restrictions. For instance, if you ran out of ammo for your imported rifle and your host did not have one of the same calibre, he could not buy any for you and chances are you would not be allowed to buy your own.

Not really mate - they are issued with temporary registration doc's.
