Another trip out
Went back to the same area where I got the little tender snack pack. No luck this tip but I'm learning every time I go out. The wattle is blooming and the smell was incredible, the air was humming with bees.

Someone got lucky,

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Keep going at it and it will unfold. My mate has been here since Friday and rolled a bloody nice stag yesterday arvo at 2PM after some serious hunting. He has been putting in the hard yards. He got pics of the stag pre shot to make it even better.

Had to look up the wattle tree. Those things are just gorgeous!

Australia has a heap of different wattles Bill. I have a few in my yard in QLD. My favorite is the Cootamundra wattle but it won't do well in the sub tropics of South East QLD

Somewhere in Australia there is a Wattle species blooming every day of the year. Up to 1000 species iirc.
Sambar deer actively browse and rub them also. The wood burns incandescently but doesn't have the longevity of our main hard woods. The bark is actively sought for its very high tannin content for tanning hides. Sth Africa has huge plantations of it for that purpose.

It would seem that Australia has so many acacia species that it is now seen of their true home, whereby the African ones have been relegated to needing three Latin words.
