André Georgescu and his amazing fox whistles....
As he's an Aussie, I thought I'd ask here if anyone thought much of his alledgedly incredible fox whistles? Is he all he makes himself out to be, or is he a bit of a snake oil merchant?

For those that haven't come across them, I'm talking about these:

Can't comment on them being the "ducks nuts" of fox whistles but they certainly are not that unique!! The Tentenfield fox whistle looks indentical (apart from the wanky gold plating Roll Eyes

I'd also say its a bit wanky ... at the end of the day whether its a button whistle, Tenterfield or this one ... it still comes back to the operator.
Cheers...

Hell, I can't get a Tenterfield whistle to work.
And guess where I live?
Maybe I'm that deaf I just can't hear it, like my Bosen's pipe. Smiler
Hey, the right note on that might work.

I've tried most of them, some of them quite expensive, and I don't reckon that you can really beat the old $2 button whistle at the end of the day.

I agree - but sometimes it is better to 'mix it up'. If you are serious about your predator calling it pays to have more than one in your pack..

Yeah well, a mate had a squeese thingy, built a blind, called up a fox . . . And missed it.

Besides, with me ships whistle, you can pop them when they stop to salute.

I met a guy at Eastern Creek one night who owned a prawn trawler at Raymond Terrace. He used to trawl in summer and in winter he would drive the fire trails all over the blue mountains chasing foxes. I used to get fresh prawns (and some BIG mud crabs) off him straight from the boat. Anyway, his prefered fox whistle was the plastic wrapper from those kraft cheese slices! He gave me a demo and man it sounded great. He said as he was trawling he used to whistle away and laugh at all the foxes that would poke their heads out of the reeds along the river.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

Sorry, as he was trawling for prawns in the summer, he would whistle foxes. The foxes would come down to the bank and probably think to themselves "why is there a rabbit in the middle of the Williams River?"

Thanks guys, that Tenterfield whistle looks like a better bet to me on the whole! I've downloaded some of the sounds so I'll spin them through the Ipod and see what comes up while I wait for them to arrive.

I'd prefer to be able to do it au natural (i.e. without electronics!) but I need to get some tails hanging to keep the farmers happy!
