The Foster's thing again

Bill/OregonThe Foster's thing again
As I am sure my Australian friends would rather not dwell too much on the cricket tests at Ashes, I have to note that even the BBC is on board on the Foster's fakery, as one of the mates here termed this beer "a fizzy drink for oiks" in a thread some while back:

JBrownWhen I traveled around Australia in 1998 I was surprised that Fosters advertisements were nonexistent and Fosters beer was not prominently displayed in liqueur stores or bars.
WHen I discussed this with locals they expalined that Fosters image was that of a bottom feeder brand. They were shocked when I told them that Fosters was the only Australian beer that had a presence in the US. When I told them that Foster's motto in the US was, "Fosters, it's Australian for beer, mate.) they rolled with laughter.

Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

HomerOzG'Day Fella's,
In general, we would prefer not to discuss any thing to do with the Australian "Test Teams" cricket performance!
That team is just a bunch of Celebrities and Stooges and an exceedingly poor reflection on us as a Nation!!!
As to Fosters, it is such a poor alcoholic beverage, we won't drink it!
We only Export it!!!
Sorry about that!
Doh!

Matt NormanWhile in Australia long ago I recall a beer they forced me to drink; 'V-B' or something like that (Victoria Bitters?). I managed to drink several dozen of them over the course of of my visit...just to be polite of course.

I thought Victoria Bitter, Melbourne Bitter and XXXX were all great beers. I did note that when you traveled from one region to the next the locals would tell you that only one of the three was worth drinking.
One Aussie even told me that when he goes to visit his inlaws in Victoria he had to take a case of XXXX as he couldn't drink the crap they drink there(VB and MB).

G'Day Fella's,
Matt, we tend to give most things another name, just because.........
Any way, one of the many other names for Victoria Bitter/VB, is Vomit Bomb!
VB is OK if that's all there is but we do have some better options down here!!!
Hope that got a laugh out of ya!

Okay, now it all makes sense to me. Aussies, like Matt Graham, call stuff like Nescafé instant Coffee, "coffee", but in reality, it isn't coffee.
Thanks for clearly that up for me Homer!
