the Aussies are calling them Australasian already as they do all successful Kiwis when they aren't doing too good, but yes it was a good result. The round ball bame became very popular after the 82 world cup as well.

Im getting a laugh outa this. Im not a soccer fan. In fact I detest the game. But the media here has been talking the socceroos up that much you would expect them to beat brazil 3-zip in the final. And now the kiwis(who our media wrote off before the comp started) are stealing all the thunder. Good on em. Its still a ordinary game though.

I work with Air New Zealand a lot and usually get a number of phone calls on Sunday evening (Monday afternoon Kiwi time) but yesterday I couldn't even get anyone to answer my emails.

Appart from the Italians here, we were all rooting for the Kiwis to win!

It wasn't the case when Australia played their two games though.

That is because Australia has two big idiots playing for them, and they both got their marching orders.

The likes of Cahil and Kewel should not be playing in a national team.

Mind you, at least half the Englsih team are thugs too

We watch the games with all sorts of different nationalities, some are represented in the games and some are not.

But, each person stands against either a team or an individual.

This makes for a very interesting evening.

It was a great weekend for sport, on Friday The Good Lady and I saw the NZ Maori team beat The Irish at rugger and on Sturday we saw the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic beat the Aussie Adelaide Thunger Birds at netball. Then to top it all the All Blacks managed to scrape a win over the Welsh. Oh yes, there was something going on in South Africa. Go Kiwi!

Oldun to top it all off the Baby Blacks just had another beaut win as well. Future for All Blacks looks good.
