sambarman338Shucks Bakes,
Are you not a Kiwiphile? I forgot it was on and didn't turn over until the train was just leaving Te Kuiti (looked but couldn't see anyone I know

- maybe there was no one there, considering only two figures graced the platform at Palmerston North).
The North Island was good, if that can include the messages about horrendous natural disasters along the track. The bridges were particularly impressive considering the small population that would have paid for them. The graphic of faultlines at Wellington reminded me of Shanks's brother's fears for the place.
The five-hour(?) coverage was in fact just the highlights, and the crossing only took a few minutes. I was a bit disappointed that the next train had to go down the east coast but, when it got to ChCh they changed to one going up the Arthurs Pass line. When it got to Greymouth, the cameras found a large 4WD and headed down the road towards Franz Josef ... (won't give away any more 'cause the full 13-hour version may be on tonight).

BakesMate I flicked onto the Ghan one and thought 'WTF is this crap, who'd watch this"

Lasted 5 minutes, waiting for something to happen......it didn't. Went outside to potter in my garden

twobobbwanaI wished their had been a bit of commentary.
Not babbling...…….but just a few points of interest.
I saw the Ghan episode and we especially looked out for the kiwi one...…...but it got too late...…...and it's too long.

sambarman338I think the long version of the Kiwi trip might actually be on tonight. Not sure what time it starts but it takes 13 hours.
