Camel Skull Score
After my recent camel hunt, I only brought back the top half of the skull. I had to rope it under the tray of the ute to get it home and boil it up.
A shoulder mount would take up considerable space and I'm not sure one has been done here in Oz.
Apart from the Australian Bowhunters Association (ABA) I could find no organisation that accepted Camel measurements as a trophy. The ABA use a modified Douglas score. I measure from rear to front of the skull (in a straight line), the width at the widest point and the width of the canines. This is measured in inches and round up to the nearest 1/8". I got 32" which if I had shot it with a bow, would have made number 4 here in Oz.

BoghossianNice one - would like to see the pan you boiled this in!
I thought you weren't a trophy hunter?! It all changes when a new #4 is on the deck eh?

Matt GrahamPlenty of camels have been shoulder-mounted...
Is the "tray" the bed of the ute (truck)?

I like the look of that Euro mount. Like a giraffe mixed with a hyena!
Prehistoric is one term used to describe this skull.
This old bloke is missing his front teeth and I have (now) seen other skulls with even more canine teeth.
I reckon a pole shoved up the centre of the skull would make it look even more barbaric.
Thanks James,
Is it common to rope things under the tray? I've never heard of anyone doing it up here.
