geoffMany of the handguns shown are true antiques and very collectible. Not knowing Australian firearms laws, what violation was the dealer suspected or charged with?
As you stated, it is a shame.

jhaneyThere were atleast 10 officers working on this "big Sting" and how much do you think that cost?
From the firearms that I saw he wouldn't have made a very effective terroist. Unfortunately those "evil" firearms will probably end up like the last firearms dealt with by the government, cut to pieces.

The audit was conducted between last Monday and Wednesday this week, during which number of unregistered firearms were detected.
Officers also had concerns about how the firearms were being stored.

Matt GrahamIf they want to find 'offences' they will find them.
Pretty sure he will get these back. It is just the Gestapo propping up their 'seizures' figures.

RonEThe NSW police aren't very firearm safety conscious...The video shows them pointing long guns at each other.
Saw some nice looking old hand guns..........Looked pretty evil too

zhabathe real crime here is the handling of those weapons!!!There are some amazing peices there and they were put in rubbish bin's typical of people/police that have no idea. I'm not sure they will get them back Matt, but it would be nice if they don't to see them sold off to collectors so all that history isn't lost yet again

Matt GrahamYeah, who knows?? All I can say is that the Shooters & Fishers Party is fighting very hard to have this kind of bullshit stopped in NSW.

Big Bore FanInteresting video. Hmmm .... And it's interesting that there´s the same madness like in Germany. Since the school shooting 2009, the government decided that any withdrawn or discharged firearm must be destroyed. There are no historically valuable weapon. And so alone last year in Bavaria over 50 tons of weapons have been destroyed. I've seen boxes of 08, C96 pistols. Old muzzleloaders, German "Schutzenrifles", brand new revolvers and targetpistoles, hunting and sporting rifles, made by Suhl, Ferlach or from the other "old" gunmithing places. Partially rarest weapons. And it goes even further here. Even scopes or magazines may not be performed in the trade back. I have seen boxes full of magazines, whether new or collectible, crushed in a vice. Riflescopes smashed.
Sometimes new scopes, price for 2000.-€ Plus! I know of gun collectors, which was the new regulations for gun storage too expensive, have given all the weapons to police. Hundreds of old treasures. All is lost for generations.
I mean, in just the last 3 years, no less than 1 million legally registered guns were destroyed.
According to recent calculations, there are 5.5 million registered firearms. And 1.4 million gun owners. The estimates of the illegal goes from 20 million, to 40 million, but all parties, especially the socialist are on the track of IANSA. First of all collect legal guns. This year we have elections. And it is a coalition of socialist and "Green" probably. These have taken up the cause to ban all weapons over .22 for the private gun owner. And any remaining weapons be placed in central storage. Exceptions there should be only for certain people, such as hunters.
Welcome to the world of madness.
I'm target shooter, since I´m 14 years old, collector and reloader. My dad ist master gunsmith, we have a little gun store. Thanks god, he will retire soon. I´m owning 19 firearms, mostly single shot´s and a few bolt actions and levers. So guns that do not appear in crime statistics. I also owning four handguns. Thereunder a prototype about the H&K P7 police pistol. To get this pistol, it takes nearly a half year of sweat and tears. "Fighting" with our authorities. I have allthought a Sig/Hämmerli 210-6 target pistol. The "best" I mean. It will be a sad loss for many and for me. Not only financially ......Policy will kill the gunsports!
