Curious again.

Under and overs under a S1000 retail.

There's quite a few varying in quality.

I don't mind the Pointer or the Baikals.

However, are there other reasonable u/o imported into Aus and by whom?

I am just interested as to pontential lines I should get in for young and first time shooters.

But BTW, there is a very small profit margin in guns with all dealers now I am getting into it. When the gun dealer I am working with told me (about 2 years ago) that the profit on many products was about 10%, i thought he was full of it. He's not. there are some areas coming up where there is a bit to be made but it aint in (most shot)guns or shotshells.

But it is great getting through the paper work and getting to know a damn lot more about who does what in the gun buying and selling scene.

Boito is an interesting one. The importer is just a bit hard to get an account with.

There's a new importer of another brand of Turkish guns that looks good as far as an account goes but it will be in january before we can get to working together.

as I have said, there really is a good market around here for cheap u/o.

This is very true - I know one successful gunshop who tell me that they make most of their money through the sale of .22 ammo, and most other things they barely break even on!

I got my hands on a new Rizzini with Choke tubes for under a 1000 bux a little while ago. Not sure if you can still get them or what price they are now though.

GBB have a look at Yildiz U/O they retail for about $995 are imported by Spartan Global and are a nice well made gun for the money they are an alloy reciever and are light weight I picked up a 20g and love it

not saying there is a right way and wrong way. There are just different ways.

I just spent a year in Aus. and it just seemed that if there were two ways to say something, Australians said it the other way from what I was used to. Like I heard of a wildcat necking a 303 down to .25 cal. I assumed it would be called a .25/303 but am told in Aus its a .303/25. I say an over and under and you say an under and over.

I have an Interarms Mark X chambered in 7X57 mauser. Do you call it a 57X7 mauser???

One thing I did notice, we both call a nice cold beer the answer to a "well earned thirst".

A lot of vintage British calibres name the parent cartridge first, the .500/.450, the .450/.400 and the .577/.450 Martini Henry are some examples.

I noted recently under-and-overs are called "super-imposeds" either in the UK or the Continent.

As for the Continental 7x57mm it is also known as the English .275 Rigby.
