Matt GrahamSambar Stags
I thought you might appreciate this photo of a fine Victorian sambar stag that one of my clients took just a couple of weeks ago. It was just under 30 inches and ready to rub… very lucky!!
Sorry I can’t give you details for this one about the hunter or location but he was using a very nice looking Blaser 30-06.

Matt GrahamHere is another Victorian beauty, one on my guides (Simon) took for himself a while back - his first sambar stag. I think he was using a 338WM (I would have to check with him on that). Beam length was over 30inches each side. Location is a mystery.... I wont even bother asking (again) but he did say it wasnt what you would call a typical sambar haunt or the regular sambar range - but it was public land.
I sure hope to get one like that for myself one day and hopefully I will get a chance later this year, as I have some work to do in Sept/October down there in Vic.

That's the excuse anyway!!
If anyone else would like to post some recent sambar trophies here .... be my guest!!

Yes we were told that deer was taken around the Warnambool/Cobden area, if it was, it is indeed far removed from the typical sambar haunts.
Bloke up the top pic looks like he had a hard time too with his expression.
