It looks like I am going to Oz Dec. 2012 for my wife's family reunion. What nearby hunting opportunities are there in that area? Rusa, Sambar, Hogs, Kangaroo culls?

Sambar not ideal time of year

Yep, sambar is the only one of those, that's close to Melbourne.

Trouble is, it's close to the worst time of year for hunting them. First month of Summer, temperatures can get over 100F, the bush is dry and crackly underfoot [and prone to wildfires], and the snakes are at their most active. And there are plenty of them in sambar country, all highly venomous.
