Bakes,

Before you book with any African outfitter, I would suggest that you talk to Charlie Stanton (Mbalabala Safaris). I have hunted with Charlie on several occasions and not only is he a good PH but he understands Aussies, and our financial situation, very well.

Charlie will be at the Safari Club Downunder expo at Coffs Harbour in February (21/22). Even if you are not going to Africa for some time, it would be good to talk to him early so you know your options and can start the planning (which is half the fun!). Can you bum an Opsat flight down to Richmond or Williamtown and then make your way up to Coffs? We could probably even pick you up on the way through!

Bakes,

My best mate has been 4 times and continually works on me on the issue of "flying over water"!!!!

BwanaBob sounds like a good starting point.

My mate has shot about 140 plains animals up to Eland over his 4 trips. If you don't have any fear of flying etc. then I think it is much easier and cheaper than you might think.

Also, keep in mind that web sites don't give you the story of what you can really do.
