There is a "chance" if general numbered limits are ever introduced that pre-existing owners in excess will not be required to reduce. Probably not get permission to buy anything else or more of course.

I think it will be a case of "you are not licenced for that firearm" and there will be no compensation etc. Similar to the person who for medical reasons or whatever, can no longer qualify for their driver's licence.
