AussieMikeHog Deer on public land
Is there any point in spending time looking for hog deer on public land.
Where would you recommend I try.
Is a boat any help.

Lots of Hoggies get taken on public land, the real trick is get your groundwork and scouting trips in. And then hope that some other nimrod doesn't get "your" stag...

Sambar 9.3Ok, where to go. Hmmn? You could do worse than to get a copy of the updated hunting maps put out by DSE. Look for public land around Longford.
Then double check with the local DSE people that the areas are actually open for hunting.
Make sure you wear some Blaze Orange, as there will be about a thousand other hunters (all of us not lucky enough to win a balloted hunt, or rich enough to afford a membership at Para Park) doing the same thing.
