Bill/OregonLoving my Blundstone 500s
Just thought I would say how comfortable these fine shoes from Australia are. They are not all that well known in the States, but they should be!

AvatarYep, they are a good thing for sure. I wear them everywhere and they are pretty much compulsory attire around these parts (wine/sheep/cattle country).
They will last for years with a modicum of care, especially if you can keep them dry. I find the leather generally wears out long before the soles or the elastic sides.
Another good line of work shoes is Rossi, they're every bit as good as Blundstone.
Not sure if you can get them in the US though.

ozhunterIf you like Blundstone them you should try Aus made VICTOR "Mongrel" oil kip elastic side boots.

Bill/OregonAvatar, they're available here, but spendy -- $150 US or more.
To keep mine in shape, I thought I would give the leather an occasional treatment with Vegemite ...

BushchookWell over 5 years since Blundstone manufacture was shifted to the third world.
The hunting imperative was part of every man's soul; some denied or suppressed it, others diverted it into less blatantly violent avenues of expression, wielding clubs on the golf course or racquets on the court, substituting a little white ball for the prey of flesh and blood.

finnwolf64I've purchased 2 pairs of Blundstones in the last 6 months. First pair I left on my mates veranda after spending the day in the yards helping sort cattle that I was buying. A fox stole one of my boots that I'd only bought a few days before.
Ended up shooting the fox the next morning as again it searched the veranda. Bought a new pair of Blundstones the next week, but a few months later my mates manager found my stolen boot in the paddock a few hundred yards from the house.
So I now have two sets of Blundstones, with the left boot of one pair a bit more weathered than the other.
To be honest, I like the Blundstone boots as a farm/work boot, that you consistently have to take off/put on when going inside, so as to stop having cats head burrs inside. But for a serious hiking/hunting boot I always prefer a lace up Danner style boot.

pagosawingnutAfter reading your post, I got online and ordered a pair. They came in yesterday and I will have to break them in a bit but for the most part, I like them. Thanks for the suggestion/recommendation
