Yes it is a good example and study of what they are capable of... even so, he would have to be making an effort to swivel his eyeball back that way to get you at that angle wouldnt you say?? Maybe he might get something in the periphery.... I expect they have excellent peripheral vision too eh??

gryphon1No i wasnt sussed at all,i watched until he decided to walk into thick cover above him.
Ever done any cattle work as in walking behind them in the race to push up into the crush etc and been booted, it tells you they see where they want to aim that hoof! And I can tell you now that prey animals as in cattle and deer can see virtually as well behind as front on all part of natures mechanisms for pred watching protection.

gryphon1bloody sambar are usually excellent at catching anyone under fair chase conditions.
