Special permit with a suitably licenced outfitter. Once you get the permit you can use the outfitters handguns. Previously this was only available to O/S visitors on a trial basis (because there were so many dedicated handgunners wanting to come here) but last year they opened it up for Australian residents too. We havent tested that application for Aussie residents yet but we will this year. Not sure if they will want to see a H-class permit from another state ... hopefully not.

Problem is in the interim the CO of licencing up there has shifted jobs, so we will see what transpires with the new CO.

Some may say that it isnt fair that this is only available to the privelaged who are hunting with an outfitter but I would counter that it is a small step in the right direction and a damn sight more than all other states...well done NT!!
