Aspen Hill AdventuresPlease Make A List....
I imagine there is quite a substantial list of game available in Australia and New Zealand.
How about a comprehensive list, by species all the way from big game down to varmints and what the hunting season is, area game is found as well as bag limit, if there is one.

Bad Ass WallaceSabre-toothed field mice - open season all year round but be sure to use enough gun! These varmints habit all areas from coast to desert!

Aspen Hill AdventuresDamn nice list y'all! I knew there was a lot to hunt there and this beats my guess. I must have missed the original thread.
Bakesly, I am planning to come and hunt some day. Is that OK with you????? I just wanted to know how many bullets and arrows to bring.

07 July 2004, 16:00
Bad Ass WallaceAnn, with our laws it would be easier to borrow a rifle from a local shooter than bring your own. You still need an International Visitors Permit $AU60 as well as a form signed by your local police stating that you are a good citizen.
I got 150 guns and 9,500 rounds of ammo which you could borrow. That should be enough firepower to kill something!
07 July 2004, 16:04
NitroXAnn
Just leave enough time for the forms to be processed. Its always nicer to use one's own firearms.
Bring lots of bullets.
07 July 2004, 16:35
Aspen Hill AdventuresBAW,
I am the local police.

BTW- how do you get away with having so many guns? I thought you all were rationed over there by your chicken sh!t legislators?
And good advice, John, I will make arrangements well ahead of time for my own fire power.
Still, you all have an impressive list of critters worth hunting. I can't wait!

07 July 2004, 17:42
Bad Ass WallaceGotta have a genuine need & genuine reason for each one!
So I have one for mice, rabbits, dung beetles, bull ants, roos, chicken shit, wild pig, foxes etc., etc.
Then I shoot every competition known to the authorities and some not so known,
Then I'm listed as club instructor & new members officer so I need some more for that purpose,
Then I a member of the Historical Arms Collectors,
Then I need rifles in my name for the kids to use in junior matches,
Then I got a few more unlicenced that were given to me by non-licenced shooters but I'll put on my licence,
About then I'm just about stuffed, cos I run out of excuses
New ideas anyone?

Armed insurrection?

Maybe not a good idea.

Yep alright with me, you'll need a permit to enter the Northern Territory (we just don't let any riff raff in
) they can be picked up at any service station for $10

338winWe also have feral goats and pigs in Victoria as well, in my neck of the woods anyway.
cheers 338w
07 July 2004, 23:35
shehuntzAnd dingoes in north west nsw.(ok to shoot in nsw)
Chital in nsw. the chital are escapees and only a select few know where they are

. (like the b/buck)
Hog deer in nsw also - again - a few know where they are and they also dont have to be tagged in nsw. (no deer does here in nsw)
muzza - your horses must be small over there. I would have thought them much bigger than a tahr.

Oh - and this guy - watch out for him!

BwanaBobHi Ann,
In conjunction with a booking agent, here in Oz, I am putting together a booklet and companion CD-Rom which will tell you everything you need to know about Hunting in Oz and there will be one on NZ (and many other countries) in the future. These publications are designed for US and European hunters who might want to hunt here, rather than for the local hunters. I'll get you a sample copy which should answer your questions but I would also greatly appreciate any feedback you might have.
cheers,
Bob
Sorta went for the established game animals first , then listed the other feral type critturs , so no real importance on the size issue , although we do have miniature horses now - they are much better than full size ones coz you dont need so many people over to eat a whole one in one sitting.....
08 July 2004, 12:18
Bad Ass WallaceAnd they are the only form of transport whereby you can grow roses in the exhaust emissions!

08 July 2004, 14:45
NitroXI'll leave Muzza and his minature horses alone.
I'll stayed "muzzled".
