muzzaits not difficult - just time consuming with paperwork.
The Australian authorities seem to have difficulty with visitors bringing guns , due to storage and being able to locate you while you are travelling .
If you are just visiting for a short time and want to hunt , then you really are better off using a locally owned firearm , with the local owner or guide.
Its much easier bringing a firearm into New Zealand were we have far more enlightened gunlaws......

The bit about the Australian authorities isnt totally true. You just need a reasonable excuse to be doing it and it varies from state to state.
Also for the most part if the paperwork is basically the same for someone borrowing a gun as bringing one with them... most states have a visitors permit and it is the same application if you want to bring a gun with you - just an extra bit to fill-in. If you use someones gun here but DONT get the permit you may be breaking the law and that isnt cool for someone from O/S/... lots of people do it though.
Bill - it just depends on what you want to do... which state, outfitted hunt?? You know what I mean...
Cheers
Matt
