One week to go
Heading off next week with my young bloke. Going to try for a red or chital at a place that AR member AnotherAZWriter introduced me to. The young fella is very excited. Going to be bloody cold however

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

DoglegJust out of curiousity, what do you consider cold?
Cold....real cold. Yesterday the mercury dipped down to 18c during the day!!!! We had the fire roaring let me tell you.
But seriously

the nights will get down to 0 to -1 or 2ish and the days may be in the high teens low twenty's. The days are ok, nights get a little chilly when your in a mozzie dome.
Cold is all relative mate

DoglegA couple hunts in the NT. First a feral shoot with Matt at his Dorisvalle/Dally River/Pine Creek camp, then a take no prisoners buffalo cull in Arnhemland with Barry Seabrook.
Ah just about the start of the build up. Good time to hunt mate. Drink lots

DoglegI'm looking forward to it, it's my fourth Aussie trip in four years. Or 5 hunts in a three year span of you look at it that way.
Australians know how to have fun, and that just keeps reeling me in. That and the volume of shooting.

DoglegHow old is your little guy?
Not so little. He's 16. He was to small to come pig hunting when we lived in the NT so this is his first real hunting trip.

DoglegI took my boy down to the NT last year. He was 17 at the time, and had a ball. Got him started hunting at 11.
