Gaur. My dream hunt. Reality is, sadly, I probably never will. Many great tales in print of jungle hunting for this secretive and unpredictable bovine. As you say Bakes, look at the size !
Pity some were not liberated in the Northern Territories along with Asiatic Water Buff and Banteng. I'd bet hunters would be in queues for a chance to pursue one.

Not sure if Malaysia still allows hunting but I think it was possible until a few years ago. If correct it may have been the only / last country offering legal hunts that I heard of. These days attempting to bring a rifle into Malaysia may be practically impossible anyway.
Some high fence ranches in Texas offered Gaur ( IF genuine Gaur ) hunts for pretty stiff trophy fees but I think all have been shut down...?? Some Texas members here can possibly update this.
Sure would be great if Gaur hunting did pop up again somewhere one day. But, probably wouldn't be cheap.
