Colours
This will get me in trouble , for sure - but here goes...

Bill, the Kiwi builder was going through a house he had just built with the woman who owned it. She was telling him what colour to paint each room.

They went into the first room and she said "I want this room to be painted a light blue."

The builder went to the front door and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!"

When he went back into the house, she told him that the next room was to be bright red.

The builder went to the front door and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!"

When he went back into the house, she told him that the next room was to be tan.

The builder went to the front door and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!"

When he came back, the lady was pretty curious, so she asked him "I keep telling you colours, but you go out the front and yell green side up; what is that for?

The builder said, "Oh don't worry about that, I've got a couple of Aussies laying the turf out front.

Hee hee. You guys are wicked! Big Grin

You Aussies got us on the gay marriage bit. And we deserve to lambasted for it too. So, exactly what is the definition of marriage? And it's purpose? My understanding is to enforce a stable home environment for the raising of kids. I can see a problem there. Mind you, we had a white rabbit and the neighbours had a black tomcat. The rabbit used to try to bunny the cat - they were big pals - but the cat didn't appreciate it so much! Point being it is nature.

Nature or not, and even if animals get carried away, it is still not mateing in any sense of the word or definition of it. Neither is two people of the same sex living together a marriage. It may be many things but it is not a marriage.

Putting sackcloth over a window opening doesn't make it a window and it will not keep the rain out either.

I wouldn't care about gays getting married if it didn't enhance their entitlement to artificially beget and acquire children to bring up. That's the most important issue in all this.

Children may be the meaning of life but they should not be pawns in the self-fulfilment of people who would not normally have them. In order to know how to grow into fully functioning heterosexual adults (a reasonable hope, since that is the normal biological way forward), they need to grow up seeing how heterosexual men and women relate and live together.

Moreover, research published on another forum showed that children brought up in gay families fall behind in all sorts of development categories, compared with those brought up in conventional marriages.

So, why not gay marriage combined with an undertaking not to employ artificial means to get children, especially at the state's expense? As a part of this, ownership of turkey basters should require something equivalent to Category C shooters' licenses.

Gay 'marriage' has been the subject of considerable discussion in my family & amongst friends.
The consensus of views just happens to parallel my own.

Same Sex Marriage - No support.

Marriage is a specific contract between a man & a woman.

BUT
another form of commitment between couples should be recognised by Gov't which provides for same sex couples the same financial & governmental status as heterosexual couples .

The main issue in the Gay communities is that there is a different class of financial & governmental treatment linked to "marriage" compared to other relationships.
Marriage & heterosexual relationships is the primary administrative distinction between multiple singles & "couples" in the community.

The fundamental social issue is linking the financial & governmental benefits that "marriage" provides for heterosexual couples, to another legal form of commitment for same sex couples.

The evolutionary generational genetic implications of the vast majority of progeny of heterosexual couples is patently different to that of same sex couples with regard to hereditary genetics.
