billrquimbyBob Penfold died last month
I'm surprised there has been no comment on this forum. Bob was a pioneer in guiding literally hundreds of international hunters to the game animals of Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia and New Guinea. I am proud to have counted myself among his friends and to have helped him publish his memoirs. He lived a rich life and will be missed by many.

RidgemanR.I.P. Bob.
He was without doubt the single most significant pioneer of the international hunting industry in Australia and the South Pacific.
A true honourable gentleman .
And Bill, I very much enjoyed the book about his life that you helped put together .

eagle27Bill, there are some posts over on NE forum, including some from myself. I have always wondered if it was Bob through whom I arranged our hunt for NT buffalo back in '78. I have lost recall of who the outfitter was other then he did write in the Aussie gun mags which piqued my interest in a hunt.
The NE post got me searching and I did find who the actually hunter was that took us out for a week on the buffs. It seems that it was not Bob who I had arranged our hunt though.
I agree with your sentiments, Bob was a well respected pioneer and a loss to our community.
