Weatherby "Red Mist"

Great looking rifle in "Guns and Game" and elsewhere on the Net.

It is getting written up in the next addition of "Australian Shooter" by Brendan Atkinson (sic).

Seems very good. And I guess it is one of Howa's better rifles.

If you already had a .22-250 and a .308, would you buy one to see just how good it is?

Other words, I guess, do you guys think it is value for money?

Bakes

I've never really like them. They are proberly very well made but I guess its the looks. A couple of guys at work are buying weatherbys in .308 for around $600 or so. I suppose at that price they are attractive but their not for me.

Their not a bad action but their barrels leave a lot to be desired! I replace barrels with Sprinters straight up & have had a good run with em! But they'll never be a Ruger !

Have a mate who just bought one . Barrel was very rough and difficult to clean . Accuracy average at best .

Have changed me mind in a big way.

Went ouit to fill a roo permit last night (50) and was using my Ruger Varmint 22-250.

I couldn't find a fault with it.

Guy with us (who only shoots about weekly) said, what is with you guys, don't you miss?

That was after son and I were betting on who could shot the roos where. One big bugger, at about three hundred yards, son says no way you can put one in upper chest, so me fluked it.

The guy we were with couldn't believe the 250 plus yard shots were just take as usual.

But I guess we all know we have to live and shot, to love our guns.
