MY BOY...

BakesMY BOY...
Took the eldest boy out this morning and he used a borrowed shotgun (smaller stock) to down his first ever game animal. Previously he'd only shot his .22 at targets. These are his first animals AND the first time he'd shot a shotgun. Little bugger out shot me (I shot like an old woman

)
I'm a very proud Dad

GerryBakes,
Matt already has it figured out at 12 years of age - aim at the HEAD of the Goose and keep the gun moving; will make you look like a middle-aged girl instead of a woman!

DUKBakes,
congratulations and very well done!
I think I know how you feel, hunting and fishing with your own kids is much more rewarding than the biggest trophy.

DUKMy boy some time ago with his first crow, shot at 80 meters with a .22 Hornet. We had practiced a lot with the air rifle and the .22 lr., Dad was very proud.

DahloGood on you guys. My daughters have shown no inclination to hunt but the new girlfriend has posted some great groups with the 17HMR at the range during the past two weeks. I think we have a new convert in the ranks...
