BakesJust got back from some leave
Took the bride and number two son to Burrum heads for a week of fishing (well the wife lay around reading books while we fished

)
First day on the water we started looking for some yabbie beds but they were very hard to come by. When we did find some they were bloody huge! We fished around the area we got the yabbies and scored four bream and five big whiting. We then moved to the mouth of the Isis river (I kid you not

) Over into the water went one poor little live mullet and that turned into a 65cm flathead
The next day we had a night fish and I hooked something big on a live whiting (of leagal size) after a 5 minute fight it bit me off

The last day was a little crappy weather wise but we headed off with a heap of yabbies. Back into the Isis river and we scored 6 BIG bream, two caught on live mullet! No pictures of them as we were to busy having a good time

DenisBThat certainly was a successful trip , except for the biteoff.
bonus is that fishing is easier on the legs than landbased hunting...........& you get to have more 'shots' & harvest more species(usually).
