shanksponyDoesn't seem to serious. A fair bit of ash but no casualties and its failry well business as usual.
I kind of hope for a few fine days and a couple more eruptions myself.

muzzaHasnt made much of a news story here. Its not a major eruption , more a bit of a cough and splutter with some ash. I doubt it is newsworthy enough to displace the Olympics as the lead story on tonights tv news...

TrackersNZTongariro and White Island eruptions pale in comparison to the huge eruption of Monawai last week, which has left a pumice raft
463km X 55km in size in the sea between NZ and Tonga. The summit of Monowai is 132 meters below sea level. 25,000 square kilometers of pumice debris.

505GMade the papers for one day here in Aus
and read the NZ newspapers and they seem to be the same.
I think once the media realised it was a water based eruption, they lost interest !
That underwater eruption would have been huge.
The pumice will now float around the world for years.
