Thanks Bushchook... tu2

I'm not sure why the colour is different, I saw many bulls on my hunt but this was the only one that had this redish colour. My PH said he was about 12 years old, not sure if that makes a difference.

Maybe Matt can help?

You get quite a bit of colour variation.

From Black, through the greys (which seem to be most of them) and then you get a few Red one's and the odd Albino - and of course the odd partial albino.

Matt might have seen other colours as well
but that is what I have seen.

Yours is a ripper colour.

At least it isn't one of the pink ones. There's something definitely off-putting about a flaming pink buffalo.

Yeah you say that here but I see 'pink buffalo please' on the request form!... Big Grin

Your ammo from Bob turned up today, by the way...

Coloured Buffalo - yes they come in all shades, some herds have lots of colour variation, some almost none. Like most wild animals you see more colour variants where there is a bigger population with more genetic diversity. A lot of buffalos colour comes from mud ingrained on the skin, I have never seen any that I would actually say were grey. With most of them, when you scrub the skin down quite a lot of it can be light and pinkish, especially underneath. Some of the red/pink ones just have that pigmentation further up their bodies. Up in east arnhem we get quite a few multi-coloured ones - but I havent seen them anywhere else in any numbers...

We killed a really nice albino bull a couple years back too... weird critter.

You said you weren't going to tell anyone about the pink buffalo request..................besides I've already shot two.

Good to hear that the ammo made it, now its just a matter of finding out if Woodleighs will bounce off.
