Off for a bit
Leaving tomorrow for a weeks fishing and crabbing up at the Burrum river (just past Hervey Bay). Most of the blokes from work are going and as its school holidays I'm taking the fabulous Baker boys. We'll be staying on our Vets property (22 acres with a 3 story house and a private boat ramp

dogs and cats must pay well!)
I'll post some pics when I get back

Got back yesterday. Had a good trip. Not many fish about though, we had some good bait (nippers) but there was just not much bitting. Lots of undersize bream on the first day and no mud crabs. Second day saw my oldest boy start things off with a can, two sticks and a shell before he landed a nice flounder.

Then a 26cm whitting came abord and straight into the esky.

And that was it. Most of the other boats got bugger all as well. On our last day as I was packing up I sent the youngest off to the ramp with a bucket full of nippers (to get him out of my hair (so to speak) and bugger me if he didn't land four big whitting

. Used about 30 liters of fuel zooming around a river and he catches the most fish off the ramp in the last hour
