Aspen Hill AdventuresDown Under Traditions
Now before you all get to thinking this is more drivel... It is not.

Normally I am away hunting "somewhere" at this time of the year as my birthday treat. So it is my tradition. This year I am going moose hunting instead of Africa and the moose hunt is not until late September.
Since I am stuck here getting a year older (Sunday is the big day) and not having as much fun as normal. I was wondering what you all do for your day older. Well, besides getting plastered. Anything unique?
This year I am going to have my own braai and invite family out to see how I usually celebrate my birthday. Kind of African style. The only difference is there won't be any fresh hunting stories or fresh kill.

HobieSome of my family gather to see if this is the year that I'll tip over dead.
No, not really. Just another excuse for a big feed and to sit around and talk. Sometimes I actually get a gift. My day is not timed to any hunting that I can legally do except groundhog!

BwanaBobMy birthday was last saturday - and I spent it camped in front of the computer, working my butt off, trying to earn enough money so that I can spend next birthday (and all the ones after that) in Africa.
I did have a low key dinner, at home, with my son and my mother, but then it was back to work on the keyboard (god, I hate birthdays!).

derfI am a Leo also but I think maybe on my birthdays, my feminine side becomes dominant. I try to ignore it and hope it goes away!

BakesI'm usually at work on my birthday. But in our house the birthday boy or girl doesn't lift a finger all day.

muzzaWe are pretty boring about birthdays . Historically I have had to work regardless , but this year , being currently between employment by choice , may be different . Her indoors cracks the big four-o in October and we are likely going to be in sunny Queensland at the time so it may be a differant birthday this time . Of course the son and heir gets all sorts of goodies and treats for his birthday , but at six he kinda expects it......
