Sambar 9.3Yep, the concrete greens are still pushing this crap.
The big question of course is, where will the money come from?
Lets just do the math, shall we? $200 per critter, for the treehuggers (who will not pay for it) Vs $0.40 for a 223 Rem cartridge. Paid for by the hunter.
Even our Govt isn't stupid enough to go for this dumbass idea. Or are they?
Hmmm.........
Cheers, Dave.

darwinmauserThe reproductive cycle of roo's is designed to drought proof the species, screw around with it and you risk wipeing out the species.
It's mercy, compassion and forgiveness I lack; not rationality.

lawndartThey tried this technique with deer in the US many times over the last twenty years. Complete failure.
There are highly populated Counties in our Eastern states that outlawed hunting. The fatality rate from car deer collisions went through the roof. Now they solicit bow hunters and pay sharp shooters with silencers.
Nothing like Bambi eating $5,000 worth of new decorative shrubbery to turn a greenie red.

GerryI can already envision the "Safe Sex" Roo Ad Campaign as we speak......sorrily, they just don't get it; Who? The Greenies or the Roos?

GerryThe folks in the state of Utah got so tired of Animal Lovers attempting to put their agenda items on State Ballots that they passed a Super Majority Rule, requiring a 2/3's public vote majority to even get their wacko ideas on a ballot.
The Greenies sued in Federal Court (and lost!) claiming thier objectives were being "marignalized".
Not only their idiot agendas but they've also apparently forgotten the what the concept of Democracy is.....

Sambar 9.3Gerry, you have to realise, these people know best! Really. Honestly. Just ask them, they will tell you.
And some of them are prepared to physically attack you to prove it. Just ask the fishermen who were attacked by the hunt saboteurs in the UK recently.
Cheers, Dave.

Hog KillerTell the Greenies to bring several cases of condoms and they can let the roos have safe sex. Of course the Greenies with have to put them on the rutting roo bucks.....

rugeruserI have this mental image of Greenies trying to entice does in to take their oral contraceptive, while some other poor bugger is trying to put a condom on a buck roo....

I reckon there'd be a Supreme Court action claiming that it was illegal to supply oral contraceptives to a female under the age of 16.... the feminists would claim that after all, it represents the ultimate patriarchal domination of the females of this planet...
And another claiming molestation of males under the same age....
Maybe, just maybe, we should let them implode on each other....
While we get on with the job of getting rid of 'em.

Grizzly AdamsThey tried this technique with wolves in nortern B.C. at one time too. Dart the male animal from a helicopter, fly him to a vet clinic and give him a vasectomy. Then, fly him back to the capture site and release. I think the cost was about $ 1500 /animal. Of course all the tree huggesrs though this was just marvelous.

Dave2431Why not just grab a greenie, sow the sod into a doe skin...hang him/her over a fence line and let the bucks go at it

. l'm sure this will keep the bucks busy/reduce the roo population and let the greenies know what a good times' all about.

duffy4I will volunteer to help out in this worthy cause. A drop of birth control solution on the end of a .223 projectile and then administer the drug into the blood stream of any roo from a resonable distance. And they will no longer reproduce.

analog_peninsulaI think the kangaroos should use the rhythm method. I'm sure that they'd practice safe, responsible sex if the issues where just explained to them carefully.
What you people in AU don't quite understand is that the 'roo overpopulation is all George Bush's fault. Dick Cheney used his political connections to weasel 'roo production contracts for Haliburton at inflated prices.
