I know a guy who has hunted with Vince - bagged a very nice chital stag about three years ago. From memory the guy was pretty happy with his hunt, his photo was in Vinces display at the Sika Show and is in the printed handouts too.

Be aware that chital are not just found around Charters Towers any more - they are spreading on foot and in vehicles far wider , down into NSW ( correct me if I an wrong NSW-ites ) and are able to be hunted in more places than Vince has on offer .

There is also the Watervalley population in South Australia.

I have met Vince through my hunting partner that has done a lot of hunting with him and has also filled in as a help out guide in some seasons and my hunt mate has always said that V A is an honest guide that certainly knows his stuff...integrity unquestioned and will do the utmost to put you in the "zone"

i had a hunt booked with vince for chital and pigs but pulled the pin on it for now as i saw some video of a mate that hunted with him and the chital were every where and seem to pose very little challange to hunt and i'd rather put my money into getting a wapiti out of fiordland first

i will hunt chital one day but when i'm old and can get up the hill's any more Big Grin

he is a very good guild and did a top job on the hunt my mate was on

Thanks guys, yes i'm sure Vince is a top guide.

I'm mainly after pigs and may shoot a Chital hind/spiker for the skin.

I thinking of coming over Jan/Feb next year for a long weekend.

The Chital at Water Valley are quite wild. Perhaps being behind wire means they get more pressure and are warier? Wink Big Grin

I've hunted those varmints in Uruguay several times and they were wilder than snakes killpc ... Lots of pressure there.... I might was well have been hunting snow leopards for all the good that it did me .. If I ever get a shot at one - anywhere - I might just shoot first and ask questions later .. Big Grin

Axis hunting easy ??????????????????????????????????????

Down here are the wildest animal you can imagine. I will take my hat off to anyone that can succesfuly stalk them. From the total populations of hunters/poachers down here, you will count with the fingers of your hand the ones that can stalk/hunt them in daylight without dogs..

I dont doubt that they like most deer can be wild bastards at times but the bottom line is no one that go`s to the right place in QLD fails to get one, espec with a guide as they have the "good joints" sewn up.Something akin to collecting a NC rusa it seems.
