PAHunterNeed Info on AlpineHunting New Zealand / Shane Quinn
Hi Guys:
I am planning a hunt with Alpine Hunting Shane Quinn next year for Trophy Gold Medal Red Stag, Chamois, and Tahr. Ten days of hunting, price is approximately $13,500.00
Anyone have any comments about this outfitter. They have their own private airctaft, both planes and helicopters. You are flown in by chopper and set down for the Stag.
Please any info or advice, this isn't Africa so I am newbie in this part of the world.

Matt GrahamShane Quinn has a GREAT reputation but for the life of me I can't imagine why you would need to be 'set down' for a red stag in New Zealand???

PAHunterHi Matt:
My fault it's not the Red Stag we are being dropped off but the Tahr and Chamois.... I think it was some mountanious island... LOL
Thanks Jim P.
PS...
Also any suggestions on clothing? I plan on taking a bow and a rifle. My favorite rifle for plains game is my 300 RUM, that will be my rifle of choice, but I would like to take the Red Stag with a bow.

Jim in KatyI have hunted with Shane Quinn two different
times and have had excellent hunting both times.
I killed a super gold red stag and a sika deer
the first trip and the second trip we went to the south island for a Chamois and Tahr. The ride in the helicopter thru the mountains looking for Chamois and Tahr is one of the most exciting trips I have been on.
He has excellent aircraft and outstanding lodging.
I think you will have an excellent and a very successful hunt.
Have Fun
Jim

PAHunterHi Jim:
Thanks for the come back. When did you hunt with him? Do you have any pics of your Red Stag?
And last but not least, any words of wisdom that you can pass on to me? Things to bring or watch out for.
