GreybeardBushmanWalter Mikac and the resilience factor
Insight on SBS last night was about resilience and getting over trauma. Walter was in the audience saying a lot about his loss and getting over Port Arthur. How it helped him to have something to focus on something to get over his loss.
The interviewer did an interview with a girl who survived Columbine. Was very interesting. Then Walter had to ask her if she blamed guns for her trauma. That Bush should have banned guns....
She relpied that it was the person and not the gun; that guns had many legitimate uses and she wasn't against guns. Nor did she blame Bush for not banning them as it wasn't the problem. she said she wasn't going to go down that track.
And then the interviewer switched to other trauma victims.
It was a very interesting show on how people have dealt with trauma in their lives.

Good on her.

Which might be why so many people focus on "guns" and legal shooters. They need to blame someone for their loss.
