Sambar 9.3Beersheba was NOT a cavalry charge, it was made by the Light Horse, a mounted Infantry unit.
A great deed it was, but it was done by Mounted Infantry, not Cavalry.

Sambar 9.3Yes, even in the written histories, the accounts from the surviving enemy told that they expected the Lighthorse to stop and dismount, according to doctrine, and were as suprised as hell when the Lighthorse just kept coming at them on horseback.

Same same, they had horses and swords(ok small sword at the end of a rifle but swords never-the-less)

We should help rewrite the history books then....."The last charge by a Mounted Infantry Unit with sharp knives affixed".

Sambar 9.3The original (B&W) was called 'Forty thousand Horsemen', and starred Chips Rafferty. The remake was called 'The Lighthorsemen' and starred Jon Blake (in his last movie before his accident) among others.
