Ruger Predator
I have just taken delivery of a new Ruger Predator in 204. I was lucky enough to win it at the Ruger Road Show hosted by NIOA in Melbourne. I have always had a soft spot for Rugers and more recently, the 204 calibre.

I mounted a VX II in 3.5 to 10 x 40 Leopold on it.
It really shoots. I have been most impressed. I don't know whether the 204 will take over as my favourite calibre from the 22-250 but it really is flat and dynamite on the likes of rabbits and three foxes so far Smiler

Other opinions about the Predator would be of interest.

i had a play around with a Ruger 35 whelan yesterday, and was really impressed with its balance, and weight, just perfect for sambar!
so if your 204 was anything like the whelan , i can understand your appreciation of it

I love the Ruger M77 line of bolt action rifles.
I thought they were good 30+ years ago when they were a fairly new model and they are getting better all the time.
I bought a stainless steal .300 win mag M77 a couple years ago at a bargin price because the store was moving the mk2s out to make room for the Hawkeyes. On my first trip to the range with that rifle I was floored by how well the rifle shot.
I have had very few rifles in my life that I did'nt feel I needed to tinker with to meet my expectations for accuracy. This thing shot 1/2" right out of the box with full lingth sized loads.

Enjoy your .204

I have an M77 in 25-06 - a 1977 model. Its no lightweight but it is an honest , reliable gun that gets the job done .
Also have a No1 in 220 Swift that does the same as the quarter-bore but with more style .

Rugers are sturdy, reliable workhorses , no matter what caliber.

I owned six Rugers before I became a gun dealer. I like them a lot. Most are very accurate; at least as accurate as other rifles in that price range.
