BlacktailerSummer Biathlon?
I've enjoyed the coverage that NBC has given the Biathlon so much that I even emailed them a Thank You. (Can't hurt to encourage them to give more coverage to the shooting sports). Mrs Blacktailer and I were watching the other night and were wondering if there is a summer biathlon? It could be easily done with inline skates but I was thinking of cross-country running? It would duplicate my favorite part of safari the old "buffalo run and gun". I'm sure that the athletes who compete in this sport have some kind of warm weather training but are there any organized events for this sport for warmer climates? Heck if ice dancing is a sport why not summer biathlon?

RustyI think what we need is what Don Heath told me they have at Norma.
quote:
Ar well, we have a big freezer on one of underground ranges so that the teams can come and test different batches of ammo in sub zero temp all year- what a fun way to spend the day.
Also have a 1km long ski tunnel with attached range nearby so they can train all year…just at the moment they are having to warm the range…it is -35F outside!

SamSummer biathlon at Marine ranges is a run with shooting. Run, enter range, shoot, safe gun, exit range, run, repeat. The guns stay at the range.
