I have another strange idea and could use a little help in the planning stages.
Does anybody here shoot a 30BR?
I have this notion to fit my Borchardt with DST's and shoot bench rest (VFS) with it. I bought a big box full of 307 brass last year. It is the 308 Win with a rim. Dies interchange. I'd like to look at some FL sized and shortened just to see if the project is feasible.

Anybody want to FL size a few for me?

What twist is your barrel? The great majority of BR rifles, in 30 BR, are using 17 and, slower, twist barrels with light bullets. I use a 17 Lilja 3 groove and 110 gr. bullets, that I make on .925" jackets. As to your brass, when I was shooting a shortened 308 in HC, I encountered problems when moving the shoulder back .200". The thickness of the brass gave me fits until I started using the Rem URBR brass.

DocEd,

we are at the doodling on napkins in restuarants stage. You know me, I like to do things different. I think the 30Br is the neatest thing since sliced bread. I would just like to have a handful of FL-sized cases to tinker with.

By the way, I was rummaging around in the shop and found a couple hundred rounds of that brass, and the same amount of Federal 30 American. Does that make me old? I got it new.

I reckon. I still have a bunch of the URBR hanging around. Some has been shortened and some is unmolested.

Yep! I have ten or twelve boxes of the stuff out in the shop. Right next to the same amount of Federal 30 American brass. Does that make me old?
