How loose would a barrel lug have to be to effect accuacy? I have been having a heck of a time getting consistant groups. At the urging of a few forum people I checked it for tightness. I turned the screw about 1/2 twist. Would that be enough to cause erratic groups? Thanks for any replies!

Most of the old guys on this Forum are always reading, willing, and able to answer questions, and I could not help but notice that you've received zero responses. I myself have not tried to help because I, frankly, don't understand the question. So maybe a little more info is needed.

What exactly do you mean by "barrel lug"? What is the rifle? Caliber? How big are your groups and what do you mean by incosistant?
