Basic incompetence....Cross control the effing thing. Kids now days have lost basic flying skills. Only two of those filmed did it right.

Yup. Wondering how much abuse the NEW Q400 gear can take. Some carriers quit them after the collapse fest few years back.

With the C-130 and T-1, I would always start with my crosswind controls around 1/4 mile final so I could be stable when I was in the overrun. I know some guys liked to apply crosswind controls right at the overrun, but I always thought that was more of a stunt than good technique....

You can confirm or deny as you choose, but crosswind takeoffs OR landings in a twin otter
can be un-fun because the twotter's wing starts flying at a significantly lower speed than you have control authority, particularly rudder response...

Either way you can find yourself trapped in a corner with no good way out...
