I went to school with Jimmy in about 1957-1959 in Wichita Falls, Tx. His dad was base commander of Sheppard Air Force Base at the time. His brother Ed White was an Astronaut. I heard that Jimmy was shot down in SE Asia in the 60s. He was a natural leader of men and just a great human. I would expect that he may be deceased as he would Presidential material in my opinion if he were still alive.

I was afraid of that. Jimmy went on to the Air Force Academy. He was a great athlete and very popular captain of all of our teams. Jimmy was actually one grade ahead of me. I started a year later. He was quarterback, shortstop, and point guard on our Jr.Jets sports teams.
It is the great guys like him that help make us safe.
