I had the privilege to fire E. Hemingway's WR .577NE, E. Keith's WR .470NE, & F. Jamieson's WJJ .500 Jeffery
I strongly recommend avoidance of "The Zambezi Safari & Travel Co., Ltd." and "Pisces Sportfishing-Cabo San Lucas"

wwgreenerMaybe they could have gone straight ahead and gained altitude. Alfully slow for a steep turn back towards the airport. But who knows.

I don't know.
Possible scenarios could include overweight, improper flap setting, improper power setting, loss of one or more engines...
Hard to say. But I will say those kids on the bikes were lucky they were off to the side of the departure path!!
And merry Christmas to you guys too.

TCLouisFor the knowledgeable here a I pose this for speculation . . .
What if they had maintained straight out or slight left or right turn, instead of what looked like a "gotta get back to the airport" turn?
It looked like they were gaining altitude albeit slow gain until they initiated the turn.

I'm guessing they had a control failure. That steep turn at the end looks like a mechanical problem to me. The fence posts probably pierced the wings knocking out hydraulics and punching holes in the fuel tanks. Maybe even tearing out direct control cables.
