For the life of me, I'm not sure why the Air Racing leadership selected Roswell, NM., with 500 hotel rooms and very little airline service to boot!!
The rooms left now are running $3-500/n!!
I think Reno killed the Golden goose!!
Last time I was at Reno, the Commemorative Air Force arranged an afternoon up at Turning Pylon 3...what a rush that was!!
We're not going as I'm still using support for balance and walking/standing is a challenge after back surgery...
Anxious to hear reports. Our Cascade Warbirds box seats are not sold out yet!!

It s very sad that they are moving races from Reno. We often drove this, and when I had my flying club membership we could fly down in our Cessna 182 in 4 hours!!

Hadn't realized they moved the races to Roswell. That town can sure use the boost.

I have no idea of the attendance numbers, but does Roswell have the infrastructure to support the Air Races?

Reno was a special place with HUGE hotel and restaurant infrastructure...
I could fly down in my Skylane in 4 hours... not anymore!!

First the SPORT class racers pulled out, now the UNLIMITEDS have pulled out of the first ROSWELL venue!! I can't believe a national air race without UNLIMITEDS??!!

Neither class has stated a reason for the pull out. They both expect to be back in 2026.
