I trained my ass off in the Herc and 747 sims. I have at least two hundred hours in both, doing nothing by emergency procedures and multiple system failures. I am so very glad I never had something like that happen to me. I don't know if I could have pulled it out. Luckily, they had a real knowledge base in the cockpit, very similar to the Souix City DC-10 thing back in the 90's. Qantas came out a lot better, thank God.
