BaxterBGood stuff (and nice pen - my favorite).
ever seen one of these? It's a Pan Am Africa pin that was given to the pilots who flew with Pan Am on contract during the war. My uncle flew with them.

richjcool. My buddy worked for Pan Am for 20 years. His father for 40 years. Thank to Judge Mcconnell his pension check is $78.00.
But it's not over. He worked for Crazy Eddie, I mean Tower Air for a few years until his ladder collapsed on the job.

470EDDYGreat old Airline!! We flew to HAWAII on our honeymoon in 1967, and our first trip to Africa in 1978... that's back when people "dressed" to fly First Class!!
They were the first to have weekly round the world flights,1969 in Connies- Eastbound from New York Flt #2 and West bound from San Francisco Flt #1.
Very Cool!!

RockdocNever flew with PanAm but in 1985 I was a young geo working oil rigs and bummed a lift beck to Sydney from outback Queensland with the geophysicist. We landed on the cross runway in a little four seater Piper bug smasher and waiting to line up was a PanAm jumbo 747. Just about cricked my neck looking up at that beautiful plane as we touched down!
Shame they went out of business. To the souls of the Lockerbie disaster RIP.

rikkochetBack in 1968 I worked at a laundry where we washed all the linen that came off PanAm planes at Heathrow.
In one bag of laundry were two coffee cups and a spoon. The cups got broken when I moved, but the spoon is still in daily use.
Most of the plating has gone, I probably drank it, and the end is bent, but I reckon it will outlive me.
