The seaplane in "Hopscotch"
I'm watching the droll comedy caper motion picture "Hopscotch," starring Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson. Matthau charters a seaplane that is as interesting to me as it is unknown.

At 1:00:00 into the movie, the seaplane takes off. It appears to be non-metallic. It is small, probably capacity of four. Its propellar engine is affixed by what looks similar to a pylon and is perhaps four or five feet above the fuselage.

What is the aircraft?

Your bonus is watching a wonderful comedy that few people have viewed.

I believe it is an LA-4 Buccaneer which started out as the the Colonial Skimmer from Colonial AC company which became Lake Aircraft company in the 60's and they redesigned it as the LA-4 series...

That's the airplane, although the landing gear was not shown.

Many thanks.
