Handgun question for pilots (handgun-related, not aviation-related)
Gentlemen, while researching a topic related to different trigger systems and carry concepts in handguns, it struck me that many opinions in the matter had a lot to do with the personal background and life experience of the person.

I also realise that pilots in general have a much higher awareness than the general public of the inescapability of human error in matters where this error can have deadly consequences.

So I would like to have a sample opinion from pilots in regard to handguns. To broadly define the question, it comes down to the two main schools of thought regarding the widespread use of pistols devoid of any external active safety, and/or decocking mechanism (mainly precocked and loaded striker fired pistols), versus pistols with an active external safety and/or a decocker, or long and heavy trigger pull for the first or all shots.

I don't want to start a debate on the subject here, only to have an idea of what is the take of handgun owners who are also pilots.

Thanks! What is your feeling towards safeties/decockers or the lack thereof, and a loaded chamber on your personal weapon?I am comfortable owning and carrying a loaded handgun with no external active safety or decocker, and with a short travel and/or light trigger pullI prefer to carry a handgun with external safety, or decocker/DA/SA, or DAO, or unloaded chamber

Unloaded chamber is worthless and training will take care of everything else
