Russian jets intercepted off Alaska again
Actually heard about this during my Yukon excursion. Never realized the ancient Bears fly with fighter escort.

The Bears have been doing this for a couple of years. For a long time after the collapse of the USSR, the patrols ceased. Including the SU-35 on the patrols is an escalation. Hadn't heard about that.

Gotta say, the Russians have always designed some very unique aircraft.

Business Insider posted this article about the incident. BI articles are quoted a lot, but I often find their writing a bit thin. This article mentions that the Russian plane is at an advantage because it can show off its external mounted weapons and the F-22 cannot because they are carried internally. WTH?
