Things You Can Lose On An Aircraft And Survive
I dunno. I really like all the things that currently come on aircraft like wings, engines, tails, wheels, flaps, hydraulics. Don't see the need to experiment.

The USAF, and I assume virtually every other organization that flies aircraft, routinely practices engine out and no-flap landings. During my time I had 18 engine failures. 17 in a C-130 and one when I was a T-38 IP. I had dual runaway trim in a T-1. Never had to land gear up. Was hit by lightning twice and once had a three-engine power loss.
Always thought the T-38 was a beautiful ship. Having both engines generating trust is certainly better than one. But sure beats a flamout in a F-16.
Shame the F-20 didn't take off for Northrop especially for international markets, but the powers to be tossed all their nuts into the F-16.
